Margie began working summers at Lanford Brothers when she was 16 years old. She started working full-time in 1986 after graduating from the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce. Her duties then included Human Resources Manager and maintaining our computer systems. Today she is Corporate Secretary and Treasurer for Lanford Brothers and concentrates her time on the information systems and benefits administration, such as our ESOP. Margie’s roots are in this company as her father, Stan Lanford, and Uncle Jack built this company from a predecessor they inherited from their father, and she says that now the whole company feels like family to her.

Bob Milliron came to work at Lanford Brothers in 1973. He had gotten to know Stan and Jack through his previous job with Alleghany Motors. He helped Stan and Jack manage projects. He now is the Vice President and spends much of his time discussing projects' progress with the superintendents and bidding new jobs. He also is in charge of purchasing and selling our fleet of equipment vehicles and is our Company Safety Officer.

Ken Lanford has been a LBC employee since 1977, working around the shop and equipment yard helping out in the summers. After graduating from Virginia Tech in 1985 with a degree in Business Management, Ken began working in the field under different supervisors, eventually running his own crew as a superintendent. By the early ‘90’s he moved into the office, being an estimator and project manager. In 2004, Ken was named President and oversees all the company’s operations.

Al came to us from a paving contractor in Pennsylvania in 1984. Al received a Civil Engineering degree from the Virginia Military Institute and has been with Lanford Brothers since 1984 where he started as the EEO Officer with responsibilities including material and project coordination. Al has done estimating and managing of milling and bridge projects. Al now is Vice President and oversees our milling and grooving operations. He is also Chairman of our ESOP Administrative Committee.

Pat came to Lanford Brothers in 1988 as a project coordinator. Over the years, he has helped coordinate the operations schedule, estimate work, manage bridge projects, and develop new equipment. Pat has moved the company into new operations such as bridge jacking, fast track rapid set overlays, repairing bascule, swing span and lift span bridges. He has helped develop the metal fabrication shop which builds and repairs equipment and materials for our bridge projects. Pat is now Vice President in our Bridge division.

Rodney helps oversee and estimate projects. Rodney started at Lanford Brothers in 1985, bringing with him experience as a superintendent with A.R. Coffey and an inspector with VDOT. He is now a Vice President of Lanford Brothers.

Patrick had the opportunity to receive an internship in the summer of 1998 at Lanford Brothers. After graduating in 1999 from the Virginia Military Institute with a BS degree in Civil Engineering, Patrick started his career as a Project Engineer on the Bridge Repair Division and eventually transferred over to the Roadway Maintenance Division. Patrick took a “sabbatical” for 3 years to work in the Cable and Information Technology Industry before returning back to Lanford Brothers as a Project Manager in the Roadway Maintenance Division. He currently acts as the Assistant Division Manager overseeing the day to day operations. His leadership philosophy is driven by the "Golden Rule" as he has extensive experience managing and coaching people over the past 10 years. Patrick is passionate about attention to detail in work flow processes and organization, which minimizes errors and improves operational efficiency.

Steve Lattimore came to work at Lanford Brothers in August of 1984 as a Superintendent. After getting out of the Army in 1969, he began his construction career working for his brother, a pipe line contractor, then moved on to Gilbert Engineering, Branch Highways, and Blankenship. Steve is now a Vice President of our guardrail division.

Richard Ferron began working at Lanford Brothers as a truck driver in 1993. He worked as a foreman in the Milling Division and then as a Bridge Foreman and Superintendent and then he became a Project Manager for our Milling Division. Now Richard heads up our Business Development.
