“I am with the Florence Bridge Construction Unit of the SCDOT and we are providing inspection for the bridge portions of the I-95 rehabilitation project in Florence and Darlington counties, contracted to The Lane Construction Corporation.  Your company is rehabilitating the existing bridge decks by replacing the expansion joints and placing the latex concrete overlay. I am writing to let you know how much I appreciate the excellent quality of the work that has been provided by your crews.

Mike Mitchell, Stacy, and the rest of the crew are a pleasure to work with.  They are always courteous and friendly, and have shown from the first day, that they came to provide us with a quality product.  We are always informed what their schedule is and which items they will be working on.  Mike always goes out of his way to explain what he is doing and why he is doing it. Marshall and the others with the Latex concrete trucks have also consistently given us quality concrete on the overlay placement.  Bryan Helsley and his crew also worked on this project for a couple of weeks making a large full depth patch repair and their work was also very good.

Our unit had very limited knowledge with concrete overlay, as this was our first experience with this operation. Mike and his crew have shown us what a good overlay job should look like and this will be very helpful with our inspection on future overlay projects.
